Happiness in a week.

Just thought I would share a little post about what has happened during Christmas until now.

Christmas was amazing this year. I got such a sense of wonder giving my gifts to my family, everyone seemed very surprised and extremely thankful. Christmas eve I spent with Mama, Daddy and Nan. It was so much fun and I felt those butterflies you do when you are young. I made both my parents and my nan a handmade gift each which once again reduced them to tears, oh how I love my power over people! No on a serious note, it was beautiful, having the ability to draw such strong emotions from people because of something you made is a fantastic feeling.

Christmas day was great, Aaron and I got to Nans early so I could help her with food and such. Aaron becomes so much more relaxed each time he is around my family, one day they will be able to see the boy I see everyday. He was so affectionate though which makes me feel very special. It was great spending time with Daddy as well, we don't get to hang out in that kind of situation much, but it always amazes me just how proud I am of him, how proud I am to be his daughter, especially around my family. I got to spend the day with my two favorite boys. Everyone congratulated Aaron and myself and the atmosphere was really calm (which is an achievement when it's a good 40 degrees outside).
All in all, I have my christmas spirit back.

Aaron has had a week and a bit off so it's been fantastic having him home and spending some time together by ourselves. On Sunday we had all of our friends over, including Steph and Vanessa, it was so much fun having some female company and I love spending time with them both. Steph stayed over for the night and we had a couple of drinks, played games, listened to music and talked all night.

Yesterday I had a very bad headache and my coping method was a little bit of retail therapy on strawberrynet. I bought two Clairns lip tints and a Tigi hair treatment. I can't wait for it to arrive.

So there is a little recount of my past week.

Christmas 2009

Christmas time is near

Christmas is just a week and a half away. I am looking forward to Christmas this year. For years when I was younger I hated this time of year, but as I became older, I slowly got my spirit back. This year I was able to buy presents, even though they are small, for my family.

I wrapped my presents in baby blue paper and yellow or pink ribbon. The day I bought the wrapping I was in a very happy mood and decided against the traditional colours. They look amazing anyways. Everything I do represents a little bit of me - unpredictable.

So Christmas Eve I will be spending with Mama, Daddy and Nan - like every year, it's a bit of a tradition in our family to spend almost every occasion at midnight. I will treasure these memories forever. We usually get cheeses, dips, olives, crackers and everything along these lines to eat for dinner. I look forward to this pretty much every year.

Christmas Day we have a family gathering at Nans, it will be good to catch up with everyone and we always have an extravagant array of food.

Finally on Boxing Day we will be driving up to Ledge Point to spend the day (or maybe a couple of days) with Bruce and Cheryle. It's nice to relax up there and we also have a lot of yummy food!

Lovely.

I wish all of my family and friends a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year.

Bobbi Brown

So it has taken me a good eight months to finally buy something online.

I often visit websites that sell products I like - Strawberrynet is my favorite.
I spend hours on these sites, looking at make-up, perfume, hair products and jewelery. I even add things to my cart, but by the time I am finished I usually decide that I cannot spend the money and close the window.

So on Wednesday night Aaron watches me looking at perfumes, adding them to my cart and then deleting them (like usual). But I added a gorgeous Bobby Brown eyeshadow kit worth $80 but discounted to $39. I just couldn't delete it. Aaron is there telling me to go for it and live a little.

After a good half an hour of thought - I purchased it.
I also get a Revlon lipstick and a Pierre Cardin necklace for free! The shipping is also free - except with perfumes.

I am so excited.

I also love Bobby Brown c
osmetics.

Engaged

Aaron and I got engaged on the 30th October 2009.

It happened during our trip to Melbourne. We had decided to go to a hotel and see all the sights Melbourne city has to offer during the Friday and Saturday of our holiday.

We stayed in the Crown Towers Hotel, which was absolutely magical. Walking into the lobby was mesmerising... Chandeliers of all shapes and sizes hanging from every inch of the ceiling, mood lighting and dramatic music. As soon as I stepped in, although I was only wearing a denim skirt and a singlet, I felt like a princess... in a beautiful satin dress and heels.
My heart was happy.

We got our key cards to our Deluxe King suite, which was room 18:18.
The room was amazing, the most beautiful hotel room I have ever been in, we had a view of the bay and the city.

Later that night, after a couple of adventures around Melbourne, Aaron called me over to the window. We were staring out at our breath taking view, cuddling, kissing and saying how much we love each other... Aaron got down on one knee and said "Will you marry me?"

Of course I said yes.

September.

On the 17th of August this year I got my first tattoo.
It is a 'Lbj' written in script on my wrist. The letters stand for Lynn, Brian and Jade.
I have always known I would one day want a tattoo with my parents names somewhere. But as each day passes, especially in the last few years, I have realised just how much they both mean to me. My tattoo is a reminder, that no matter what I will always have two people who love me more than anything, who will always be there for me and who will always believe in me... even when I can't believe in myself. It is also a symbol of my neverending love for them, my pride, my trust and my strength.

Aaron and I celebrated our four year anniversary on the 18th Sepetember. We are so happy and in love. We didn't do much but that is because we are going to Melbourne in October. I got him a stirling silver thick chain necklace and he got me white gold cubic zirconia earrings - they are beautiful, I wear them every single day... just like the necklace he got me a few years ago. I love him with everything I have.

Another exciting bit of news is that I am going to be a Godmother to a new baby boy/girl early next year. One of my best friends is having a baby.
:)

I got a letter from Uni a couple of months ago, congratulating me. I scored within the top 10% and made the Dean's Honour roll. I was shocked and experienced way too many emotions all at once. Unfortunately I don't think I will do so well this semester... as I have been quite unwell and was struggling with a couple of other problems, all I keep telling myself is "as long as you pass, you can do better next year".

I read the Twilight Saga this year. A total of 4 books - twilight, new moon, eclipse and breaking dawn. It is a great read and finally broke me out of my... obsession (GIAB). At the moment I am trying to give the Sookie Stackhouse novels a read (which the TV series Trueblood is based on) however it's just not working - unfortunately I feel the TV series is just too good. I think I will give Dan Brown a go next - Mum is always raving about his books.

Early next year Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland comes out, I can't wait... I love all of Tim Burton's work, which is pure genius when combined with Johnny Depp's acting. Knowing Burton's style, it is bound to be the Alice in Wonderland I have always dreamed of.

...

Well this is my little update

This is how it is.

In life I have explored many paths, some I wish I had never stumbled across, many I will never remember, and even more I will never forget.

But somewhere along this journey I found myself, I found the man of my dreams and found the things in life that make my heart beat faster and my spirit dance.

I will have no regrets, mistakes have been made and now as time passes, I will never fear the journey that created the person I am today.

... and I will not fear the journey, no matter where it takes me, to the person I will one day become.
